Obama & Nobel Peace
Sometimes we all get frustrated with what we perceive is a lack of progress. We all suffer from it, and I am certainly guilty of it. But then we have little reminders that there is still hope. 25 years ago how many people would have predicted that our black president would have been selected to receive the Nobel Peace Prize? Or 10 years ago? We are impatient for the change we want to see. But when stories like these come out, it is a chance to celebrate our collective success. Honestly, it really shouldn't matter whether your liberal or Rush Limbaugh. Will it? yeah probably. But this is such a momentous occasion for us as a people we should all take pride in it.

I disagree, he has not done anything to deserve the award.
ReplyDeletethat's a different argument. My point is the fact that a black male, who is our president, would win a Nobel Prize. The point has nothing to do with whether it was warranted or not. It's simply the fact that it happened.
ReplyDeletei give him credit, he has prob done alot that we dont know about, and yeah 10 years ago is a strange thought that a black president would get the award, to me i dont care he won, and not many presidents have won it
ReplyDeleteIt defintely is strange but I could actually say this is deserved. For the last 8 years, the United States has been seen as the police state of the world. We were hated by most nations who saw us as prententious, and who all thought we should mind our businesses. Hell, we were THIS close to war with either North Korea, Iran, or both. Now, we are going back to what we need to be, a shining beacon of hope. Something for the world to look to for guidance, not a force-feeding. Yes I may be liberal in my thinking but I can already see a brightnesss in our future and I know its not from George W. Bush.
